Constituents call for the resignation of Karl Hood

Supporters of Grenada’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) who campaigned for Karl Hood to be elected as a member of Parliament in the House of Representatives are now calling on him to step down.

Government backbencher files No Confidence Motion

Disgruntled government back bencher, Karl Hood, on Friday filed a Motion of No Confidence in the four-year old administration of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas, parliamentary sources have said.

Hood not crossing the floor

New government back bencher Karl Hood says he will not cross the floor in Parliament. This as reports have surfaced that prior to his resignation, Hood has been holding meetings with opposition leader Dr. Keith Mitchell.

Cabinet warned to prepare to put Grenada first

Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has warned the remaining parliamentary representatives in his cabinet that they should be prepared to demonstrate a sincere desire to put the interest of the nation first.

His warning came in a short national address which was broadcast simultaneously on radio and television, on Thursday evening, following the resignation of his Foreign Minister Karl Hood earlier in the day.

Hood says cabinet is an exercise in hypocrisy

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Karl Hood said “cabinet became an exercise of hypocrisy” and as such could not continue to be part of it.

He addressed a news conference on Thursday afternoon after submitting his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Tillman Thomas.

Foreign Minister Karl Hood has officially resigned

After one week of rumours and speculation, Foreign Minister Karl Hood has officially resigned from the cabinet.

Hood submitted his letter of resignation to Prime Minister Tillman Thomas on Thursday, two days after he abstained from voting in a No Confidence Motion brought against the Prime Minister by Opposition Leader Dr. Keith Mitchell.

Foreign Minister Karl Hood has not left the Cabinet

Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has told local journalists that Foreign Minister Karl Hood has not resigned from the cabinet.

This follows rumours on Wednesday that the Minister who has recently been very critical of the government, in parliament, submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Thomas.
