Grenada to benefit from code share agreement between LIAT and Condor

Marketing Manager at the Grenada Tourism Authority, Francine Stewart says a new Code Share agreement between regional airline LIAT and Condor Airlines, will provide additional flights from Germany to Grenada.

Stewart made the announcement on Friday at the international trade show and exhibition, ITB Berlin.

Grenada has a direct weekly flight from Frankfurt during the winter period but Stewart says this new agreement between LIAT and Condor Airlines means that the Isle of Spice can now be marketed in Germany as a year-round destination using the code share agreement.

“So the code share interline agreement means that people can now book their flights and packages and holidays to Pure Grenada the Spice of the Caribbean, to Barbados on a Saturday during the summer, from May until October, and then they connect directly with LIAT over to Grenada.

“They don’t have to come out; their bags get tagged all the way through to Grenada. They don’t have to go through security again, and they don’t have to go through immigration again.”

Stewart said the interline and code share agreement is a positive step in the promotion of business and travel between Grenada and Germany and she emphasized the importance of tourism stakeholders taking part in travel markets such as ITB Berlin.
