Honduran police say they have found the body of a Honduran radio journalist who was kidnapped on his way to work last week.
The body of Angel Alfredo Villatoro Rivera was found in a housing development outside Tegucigalpa, late Tuesday night.
This brings the number of journalists killed in the violence-ridden Central American country this year to four.
Reports are that Villatoro Rivera was found dressed in a uniform formerly used by Honduran police and dumped near a row of empty lots in the Las Uvas subdivision southeast of the capital.
It goes on to state that his face was covered with a red handkerchief and he appeared to have been killed by two gunshots to the head.
At around 7pm on Tuesday evening residents in the area, alerted police after hearing gun shots. Several hours later investigators confirmed that the male body found at the scene belonged to Villatoro.
Villatoro was a popular morning host at HRN radio and his abduction last week had been closely followed by the Honduran public.©
