The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has launched an investigation into what appears to be a drug-smuggling operation at the Richmond Hill Prison.
A release from the Police on Tuesday stated that it was investigating the delivery of four parcels containing drugs to the Richmond Hill Prison, by a Prison Officer.
The release did not name the officer but said the officer was given the parcel by a fish vendor on Friday November 4th 2011, and asked to deliver it to two inmates.
The parcel was said to contain six and a half ounces of cannabis, one packet of Bamboo Cigarette paper and two cigarette lighters.

Richmond Hill Prison Compound
Earlier this year a young man was shot and killed by a prison guard while attempting to sneak into the prison compound in the wee hours of the morning. It was reported that he was attempting to smuggle a number of mobile phones into inmates.©
