Grenada engages IFC for advise on Teaching Hospital

A team of experts from the International Financial Corporation (IFC) is on a fact-finding mission in Grenada ahead of the country’s plans to set up a teaching hospital.

In December last year, both the government and the St. George’s University signed a public private partnership agreement to set up a teaching hospital on the island.

This initiative forms part of the government;s plans to transform the Health, Education and Wellness Sectors of the country.

The IFC‘s team will be on the ground for one week, gathering information that would help develop a strategic plan to advise on the correct approach for the establishment of the teaching hospital. They will meet with government and ministry officials, representatives from the opposition, health-care officials, the labour unions, and the media.

The team will include a legal, financial and communications consultants who will be working with the Government of Grenada and the St. George’s University (SGU) over the next eighteen (18) months, to develop and deliver the partnership.
